Dress Code & Guest Information


Proclamation of Dress

Our Club has a fairly conservative policy in maintaining a “Casually Smart” dress code. All members are responsible to see that their family and guests observe these rules; service is not permitted to any violators:

Men (10 years and older) – smart casual dress - collared shirts at all times. Hawaiian type, tailored button-down dress shirts without tails are not required to be tucked in. Golf shirts must remain tucked in at all times.

Jackets are required in the Dining Room and bar area on Saturday evenings with the exception of between Memorial Day weekend through October 1.

Women (10 years and older) – casual elegant dress – dresses, stylish slacks, slack-suits, dressy sweaters or blouses.

Jeans or denim clothing, including denim jackets, of any color, cargo shorts/pants, short-shorts and leggings are not permitted ion RRCC grounds at any time.

Golfing attire may be worn in the Dining Room and Bar area until 7:00 p.m., unless a jacket is otherwise required for dining such evening, in which case golfing attire may only be worn in the Dining Room and Bar area until 6:00 p.m. Golfing attire may be worn for dinner on the patio, in the Terrace Grill or in the Members Grille. Sneakers and flip flops are not permitted inside the Clubhouse for dinner. 

Tennis clothes are not permitted, except locker rooms, at any time. 

Hats, caps and visors must be worn with the brim forward and are not permitted in the Clubhouse except when going to and from locker rooms.

Bathing attire is restricted to the pool area and may not be worn on the Club grounds.

Golf

Players must wear appropriate dress and “soft-spikes” on the golf course, putting green and practice range. Members are responsible for this dress code of their guests.

Men's Golf Dress Code: Slacks or shorts and collared shirts are the required dress on Club grounds when golfing and practicing. Golf shirts must be tucked in at all times. Men's shorts must be conservative/traditional in length, 2 inches above the knee cap.

Women's Golf Dress Code: Golf skirts/dresses, shorts or slacks, and collared shirts are the required dress on Club grounds when golfing or practicing. Shorts/skirts should be tailored for golf and be a conservative/traditional length.

Inappropriate attire includes tee-shirts, jeans, denim of any color, cargo short/pants, sweatpants, leggings, yoga pants, short-shorts and like athleisure wear.

Locker facilities are provided for all men and women golfing members and must be used by everyone. Clothing and shoes must be changed only in locker rooms.

Locker attendants will provide lockers. Soft-spike exchange service for guests is provided for a nominal fee by the Men’s Locker attendant.

When arriving at the Club to golf, Guests are required to check in with our Starter, who is located near the golf cart staging area of the parking lot near the Golf Shop. Our golf staff will assist you with your golf clubs and direct you to the locker rooms. Changing of attire (including shoes) is restricted to the locker rooms only.
 

Racquets

Proper tennis attire is required for all players, including adults, juniors, and guests. Athletic wear must be tasteful and appropriate for tennis. Only tennis shoes are permitted, no running shoes or cross-trainers.
 

Pool

Changing and locker facilities are provided in the pool area where members and guests are encouraged to change from street clothes to bathing suits. However, if it is desirable to change at home, bathing suits must be covered when going to and from cars. No one in bathing attire is permitted beyond the limits of the pool area.

Proper cover-up is required when seated at the pool bar.
 

Cell Phone Usage

Texting, receiving and sending emails is permitted, provided such use does not interfere with pace of play or another member’s use and enjoyment of the Club. Please keep it to a minimum with no voice communication and all ringers silenced.

If a call is received which must be taken, the member or guest should excuse themselves and go to the nearest outdoor area or hallway which will not interfere with other member's enjoyment of the Club.

Smoking

Smoking of any type is not permitted other than in the parking lots, on the golf course and in other areas designated by the General Manager from time to time.  In all cases, smoking is only permitted in compliance with applicable laws.



All facilities at Rockaway River Country Club are provided for the enjoyment of our members, their families and guests. Adherence by all to the dress code, smoking policy and cellular phone restriction will add to the pleasure of our club membership as a whole.
